What is your square foot price to build?
All homes are unique and are a sum of their various parts and individual finishes. Homes of an identical square footage can vary greatly in price depending upon a number of factors such as: interior finishes, land development cost, floor plan design and a number of other factors. Consequently, we do not list a standard square foot price for our homes. We can however provide a general “range” as to home pricing per square foot depending upon a client’s personal wishes.
How long does it take to build a new home?
The time required to build a new home can vary based upon a number of factors. Size of a home, weather and site conditions as well as scheduling all are determining factors in the overall time it takes to bring a new home from a vacant piece of land to full completion. However, most new homes can be built in 5 to 12 months.
Do you do remodeling?
Yes, we do a lot of remodeling!
How many homes do you build a year?
As a custom home builder which still is very active on-site in the construction process, we generally build between 5 and 10 custom homes per year in addition to our remodeling and renovation projects.
How long does it take to get things started?
Once financing and building contracts are in place, most construction starts within a couple of weeks of final approvals.
Will you build on my property or only on property you own?
We build any place you want.
Do you have any lots for sale?
We have a number of developments to build within and also work closely with local realtors and property investors to find our clients available property for their new home.

How far will you travel to do a project?
Being located in the Great Lakes Bay Region, we have the ability to travel to most any part of the state depending upon the nature and overall size of a project.
Do you do any of the actual work on your homes?
We continue to do a portion of our own hands on work on each one of our homes. We mainly focus on the finish trim details including cabinets, custom built-ins, stair systems and interior trims as well as some rough carpentry.
Can I do any of the work on my home myself to save some money?
We have allowed clients to do some of their own work on their home to help on the financial side, however, this is allowed on a case-by-case basis only and is determined prior to moving forward with any contracts or commitments.
How do I make all of the decisions required to build a new home and how long does it take?
Our team of subcontractors and suppliers as well as our design team help guide you through each and every step of the selection process. Most clients are able to complete the selection process in 2 to 3 weeks.
I can’t seem to find exactly what I am looking for…can you design a custom floor plan?
We work with a number of plan designers and can custom design any home plan.
How energy efficient are your homes?
All Stephen Flora Homes are independently ENERGY STAR certified and meet the highest standards for energy efficiency.
